Time for a new sports update for 2020. The Washington Nationals won the World Series in 2019. As "world champions" I am still looking forward to this coming 2020 season. Nats have lost a few players including Rendon, but they have most of the same team back for 2020, plus a few good additions. They still need a third basemen to replace Rendon. They have a great outfield of Adam Eaton, sensational Juan Soto coming off a great season last year, and last year's rookie Victor Robles. The Nats re-signed Steven Strasburg to go with starters Pat Corbin and Max Scherzer.
The Washington Redskins football team finally fired their GM and head coach, and now have a new head coach in Ron Rivera. The Redskins have a good young quarterback in Dwayne Haskins and some very good receivers and defensive linemen. The team could surprise and make the playoffs this next Fall.
The Washington Wizards did not make the playoffs again this season and John Wall was injured most of last season and still this season. They seem to be in a rut of not making the playoffs but also not getting a good lottery pick in the draft. They have a few good young players, but need one more good big inside scorer.
The Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup in 2019(yes!!! finally!!), and are really good(again) this season, and should be in the playoffs again. Hopefully they get on a run during the playoffs like last season and win another Stanley Cup. Alex Oventchin had another great season and keeps getting better with age.
In college sports, the Maryland Terps football team had a bad and losing season with their rookie head coach Mike Locksley. They had a good recruiting season this year, but need to show improvement or won't keep recruiting good. The Maryland Terps basketball team got off to a great start last season and made the NCAA playoffs but lost in the second round. This year the Terps were ranked #4 pre-season, and they should make the playoffs this year.
The Maryland Terps baseball team was a disappointment last season and did not make the College World Series playoffs. But, they have a good young coach and had a great recruiting class(#10 nationally) this year. As usual, the Maryland Terps have good teams in both women and men in the minor sports of Lacrosse, soccer and Field Hockey.

April 2019 Update
Time for a new sports update. It is a new start for the Washington Nationals without Bryce Harper. Bryce signed with the Philadelphia Phillies and no longer a Nat. I am still looking forward to this coming 2019 season. Nats have lost a few players including Harper, but they have most of the same team back for 2019, plus a few good additions, including pitcher Pat Corbin. The Washington Redskins football team needs to decide who their quarterback is going to be. They did not make the playoffs and they had a lot of injuries this past season. They have a new coach(Mike Locks) and a good core of players but had a slim recruiting season because of the coach change. Not sure what to expect this coming football season. The Maryland Terps basketball team got off to a great start this season and made the NCAA playoffs but loss in the second round. They got another great recruiting class coming in, good returnees, and they should make the playoffs net year. The Maryland Terps baseball team was a little disappointng last season and did not make the College World Series playoffs and they are not playing very good so far this year. December 2017 Update
Time for a new sports update. Well, baseball season did not go as good as was expected for the Washington Nationals(many thought they would be in the World Series again), and they lost on the first round of the playoffs. Still looking forward to this coming 2018 season. Nats have lost a few players including Werth, but ahev most of the same team back for 2018. They will have Adam Eaton tback o play centerfiled and Trea Turner will now play shortstop. Still need a few backups, including pitchers. The Washington Redskins football team needs to decide if Kirk Cousins is their quarterback or not.. They did not make the playoffs and they had a lot of injuries this season. The Washington Wizards should make the playoffs again this season, and they need to make a little run in the playoffs this year. Guards Wall and Beals are great, but they still have a weak bench. The Washington Capitals are really good(again) this season, should definitely make the playoffs, and hopfully get on a run during the playoffs after losing in the playoffs last season. Their stars are getting old, so could this finally be the year they have a good playoff run?

December 2016 Sports Update
Time for a new sports update. Well, baseball season did not go as good as was expected for the Washington Nationals(many thought they would be in the World Series again), and they lost on the first round of the playoffs. Still looking forward to this coming 2017 season. Nats have lost a few players including catcher Ramos, and got a couple of new ones, but they still need a closer. They added Adam Eaton to play centerfiled so Trea Turner can now play shortstop. Relief pitching will tell if the team is better this year.The Washington Redskins football team finally decided that Kirk Cousins is their quarterback after two good seasons in a row. And, they can make the playoffs this year if they win New Year's Day 2017. The Washington Wizards should make the playoffs this season, but still not sure if they are good enough to win in the playoffs? Guards Wall and Beals are great, but they have a really weak bench. The Washington Capitals are really good(again) this season, should definitely make the playoffs, and hopfully get on a run during the playoffs after losong in the playoffs last season. Jamuary 2016 Update
Time for a new sports update. Well, baseball season did not go as good as was expected for the Washington Nationals(many thought they would be in the World Series) and din't even make the playoffs. Still looking forward to this coming 2016 season. Nats have lost a few players and got a new manager. They have lost Desmond and Zimermann and have added a few players, and time will tell if the team is better this year.The Washington Redskins football team finally decided that Kirk Cousins was a better quarterback then RGIII. And, they have made the playoffs this year, so will see how they do. The Washington Wizards should make the playoffs this season, but not sure if they are good enough to win in the playoffs? The Washington Capitals are really good this season, should definitely make the playoffs, and hopfully get on a run during the playoffs. Could be the year.

December 2014 Update
Time for a new sports update. Well, baseball season did not go as good as was expected for the Washington Nationals(many thought they would be in the World Series), so looking forward to this coming 2015 season. Nats have lost a few players and have added a few and time will tell if the team is better this year.The Washington Redskins football team has been a total disaster(again) this season, and I am not sure it will be any better next season. The Washington Wizards, on the other hand, should definitely make the playoffs this season. They could be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. The Washington Capitals, also should make the playoffs, and hopfully get on a run during the playoffs.

December 2013 Update
Time for a new sports update. Well, baseball season did not go good at for the Washington Nationals, so looking forward to this coming 2014 season. Nats have added another good pitcher, Doug Fister, so that shold really help. The Washington Redskins football team has been a total disaster this season, and I am not sure it will be any better next season. The Washington Wizards, on the other hand, should have a good year and make the playoffs this season. They seem to be on the upward track. The Washing Capitals, also should make the playoffs, and hopfully get on a run during the playoffs. This could be the year for the Caps.
In college sports, the Maryland Terps football team had an "OK" season(7-5), and they are playing in a bowl game. If they can win the bowl game and add a few more good recruits to a good class so far, things should be looking "up" for them when they move from the ACC to the Big 10 next Fall.
